You're Beautiful vs. Secret Garden - Round 2: The Ladies

         vs.

You're Beautiful vs. Secret Garden, round 2, wherein we continue to struggle to find a reason why we should be comparing these two dramas at all in the first place. But episode 2 of YAB and SG do have some similarities, as the plot has a similar flow to it, ending in both dramas with the disclosing of the true identity of our leads.

~Round 2 - Begins~

Episode 2: YAB -Kind, giving Mi-nyeo shares her lips and vomit with Tae-kyung, leader of A.N.JELL. To apologize, she graciously fixes him a cup of tea, only to have an accident occur which leads others to think Tae-kyung is responsible for it.

In episode 1 of Secret Garden, Ra-Im ended up in the hospital and being carried out of it by her boss, Jong-soo. Now it's our troubled heroine's turn to go, as a heavy trophy hit her head, but she refuses to go to the hospital fearing her disguise as her brother will be found out. She puts forth valiant effort to make amends (as everyone thinks Tae-kyung was responsible for hitting her), cleaning up the mess of Tae-kyung's room and later, throwing herself into her dance rehearsals as the new member of A.N.JELL.

About to shower after rehearsal, Mi-nyeo instead finds herself hiding from a sea of naked men. Unable to think of what to do, she wisely consults a higher power to sneak away without being caught.

But it appears, her true identity has been discovered. All is lost . . . Well, for this episode anyway.

Episode 2: SG - An imaginary Ra-Im walks alongside Joo-won, whose visions of her continue throughout the episode. The real Ra-Im does get some screen time, but only to think of Joo-won, call him, and play games with him.

The only really impressive thing she does this episode is when Joo-won gets in her way and asks her rude questions, she uses her ninja skills on him to send him flying.

But somehow, he gets the upper hand on her despite her superior skills, and ends up sitting on top of her, whereas of course, in YAB, Mi-nyeo was on top of Tae-kyung. She later goes to eat, drink and chomp down on some pig intestines.

Ra-Im goes to work although her arm's hurting and bears stoically to do take after take, only to be interrupted by her savior, Joo-won, who as owner of the department store they're working in, shows the director that Ra-Im is important to him.

Hence, as at the end of YAB, another veil has been lifted and Ra-Im now knows Joo-won's true identity as a wealthy businessman and owner of the department store.

Verdict: Mi-nyeo seeks wisdom whens she has none herself. While sadden by events, such as making everyone think poorly of Tae-kyung, she listens to others' advice, and picks herself up and puts her best foot forward.

Ra-Im, on the other hand, had only one shining moment and it didn't last long, with Joo-won ending up on top (both literally and figuratively) when they fight.
