It's been a while since I had one of these posts. This post mainly covers Korean, Taiwanese dramas and lakorns airing in July through October, and some are unconfirmed.

No Japanese dramas sparked my interest this time, so I'm skipping them.

(Thai lakorn Mia Taeng)
KOREAN DRAMAS

Scent of a Woman (July 23) Kim Sun-A, Lee Dong-Wook - A romantic comedy about a dying woman who decides to live it up before she dies? My take? I like Dong-Wook, but the premise is both intriguing and a turn off. I don't wanna cry.

Protect The Boss (August 3) Choi Gang-Hee, Ji Sung, Jaejoong - A romantic comedy in which a secretary protects her immature boss. My take? Might be fun. Definitely will check out. Plus, while not a crazed fangirl, I like Jaejoong and want to see if he can actually act.

(Scent of a Woman, Birdie Buddy)

Birdie Buddy (August 8) Uee, Lee Da-Hee - The exciting world of pro golfers. My take? I saw the trailer and it looks fun if you're in the mood for a sports drama. I'm usually not as I still haven't gotten around to watching Buzzer Beat or Pride although I heard they were good.

Can't Live With Losing (August 24) Yoon Sang-Hyun, Choi Ji-Woo - Married lawyers divorce. My take? I've seen a number of movies, dramas on the basic premise, and it can get old very fast unless it's in capable hands.

High Kick 3 (Sept 19) Yoon Yoo Sun, Ahn Nae Sang - Similar to High Kick 1 & 2 I guess. My take? I've managed to avoid High Kick 1 & 2 and I'm sure I can avoid this one as well..

1,000 Day Promise (September 26) Soo-Ae, Kim Rae-Won - A woman losing her memory and the man in love with her. My take? Sounds like a 20 episode melodrama.

Deep Rooted Tree (September 28) Jang Hyuk - I believe it's a saguek about a guard who solves murder cases. My take? Intriguing, but I don't usually watch sageuks. Trying to overcome it, I did watch Joseon X-Files, but that was a fusion sageuk, wasn't it?

Poseidon (Sept ?) Choi Si-Won, Lee Sung-Jae - About the maritime police force. My take? i don't watch action dramas unless it has a good story as well as good action, so it's wait and see time..

Man of Honor (October 12) - Park Min-young, Chun Jung-myung - romantic melodrama of second string baseball player and a nurse's aide as they fall in love and face obstacles.  My take? Romeo and Juliet type story, like the leads, but too early to tell.

TAIWANESE DRAMAS

(I, My Brother)

I, My Brother (Airing now) Gui Gui, Thomas Guo - About a 19 year old boy and his relationship with his older brother who has the IQ of a 10 year old. My take? Hmm, I'm reminded of ToGetHer, which I loved, but info seems scarce on this one.

Office Girls (August 21) Alice Ke, Roy Qiu - Title says it all. My take? Never heard about it until investigating Dramawiki for this post. Doesn't seem particularly noteworthy.

In Time With You (Sept 19) Ariel Lin, Wilson Chen - A girl tries to get married by her 35th birthday before her best friend, but discovers she's in love with best friend.
My take?
Finally, another Ariel Lin drama. Yes! She's definitely my favorite actress. Director Winnie (ISWAK 1 & 2, Momo Love) returns.

(Office Girls, Love Waking Up)

Airing Times Unknown
Rainbow Sweetheart (?) Jimmy Lin, Cherrie Ying - remake of Korean's My Girl. A con artist pretends to be a lost grand daughter at the grandson's request. My take? I really loved the Korean drama, so yeah, I'm interested.

Sunshine Angel
(?) Wu Zun, Rainie Yang – Wu's living on the streets and Rainie's a maid who helps him. Remake? of Korea's Successful Story of a Bright Girl. My take? Actually, I didn't really like the Korean drama, but part of the reason was the cast. Since I didn't consider the original all that great, maybe this remake will be better?

Runaway Sweetheart (?) - Chen Xiang, Chen Xiaoke - A girl pretending to be a guy. Chinese's Gossip Girl.
My take? This one's has been floating around for awhile. Hope it gets a solid date.

Love Waking Up
(September 2011) Roy Qiu, Tiffany Tang Yan - I think this is a remake of Prince Who Turns into a Frog. My take? Liked the original, but 40 episodes is wow!

THAILAND LAKORNS

Plerng Torranong
(July 9) Mario Maurer, Taew Nataporn - poor boy tries to get back inheirtance. My take?  Who, what?

Pimmala (July 14) Ploy Chermarn, Rita Jensen, and Aum Atichart - guy changes into girl, I think? My take? Not interested.

(Nang Sao Jumlaeng Ruk, Plerng Torranong)

Mia Taeng (July 18) Rome Patchata, Araya Chompoo - Guy marries proper girl at mom's request, but keeps his girlfriend. My take? So far, so good.  Really love the heroine, who's cool and collected. See here and here for more info.

Nang Sao Jumlaeng Ruk (July 30) Pang Ornjira, “Weir” Sukollawat Kanaros - A bigtime star gets hurt in the jungle while filming a movie, only to be rescued by the people from the jungle. He's forced into a shotgun marriage with one girl, and deserts her, but she follows him to the city. My take? Not exactly a new concept, but I like it. Haha, reminds me of Dum Khum, which I liked, and which Pang played the second female lead in.

(Pimmala, Tawan Deard, Tawee Pope)

Tawee Pope (August 1) Om Akapan,“Pancake” Khemmanid Jamikorn - remake of a famous lakorn in which a girl travels through time and finds love. My take? From what I've read and heard about it, people don't seem too impressed with it. It's a love at first sight kind of thing and he's very shy.

Khon Teuan
(August 10) Vill Sonthichai, Guy Ratchanon - An action drama about a police officer on a quest for revenge against the people who killed his brother. My take? Not interested.

Tawan Deard (August 14) Mark Parin, Yaya Urassaya – a western romantic drama with fightin' and lovin'. Well, I'm just guessing, but surely since it's a western it involves gunfights and the guy's in love with archenemy's daughter and all that. My take? It's pretty unique isn't it, the western concept in an Asian drama. I am somewhat intrigued just by the setting. And unlike Paradise Ranch, this seems to really be going for an Old West feel. Showdown at the Ok Corral and all, you know.

Roy Mai (August 31) - Aum Atichart, Aff Takasorn - A suspense filled
story about a cursed silk and reincarnations of people who lived in the past. My take? Yeah, the reunion of the A team! They first starred together in the wildly popular Jam Leuy Ruk. I like them as a couple, but I'm not sure about Aff's acting abilities.
