What's Up 3? - A Look at New or Upcoming Dramas

It's been a while since I had one of these posts. This post mainly covers Korean, Taiwanese dramas and lakorns airing in July through October, and some are unconfirmed.

No Japanese dramas sparked my interest this time, so I'm skipping them.

Watching Now: Mia Taeng Ep 2

Episode 2 or Mr. Dumb meets Tweedledee and Tweedledum. There's also a burgeoning moment of awareness, some great slap downs by Arunprapai to Mr. Dumb and Bproong, plus a fashion show pitting Bproong against Arunprapai. Mia Taeng continues to interest and amuse me.

Thai Lakorn Review: Khing Kor Rar Khar Kor Rang

2ne1 could learn what being "fierce" really means from Nit. Khing Kor Rar Khar Kor Rang has one of the fiercest female characters I've seen in any drama. Period. She's very much flawed, but also full of sass, and bullheaded enough to break bones. (For alliteration purposes)

The OTP smokes, burns and sizzles. The mom's a freaking nutjob.  And we have a trio of bitches witches straight out of Macbeth. My review of KKRKKR lies under the cut.

Watching Now: Mia Taeng

Mia Taeng is the new lakorn in town, and it looks to be a fun and satisfying one (please don't start to drag!). It stars Rome Patchata and Araya Chompoo as a couple who get married due to their parents wishes. Araya is cool, calm and collected, while Rome's the hot tempered playboy.

Drama Review: Ka Kaung Kon (2011) and Teaser #6: Guess Who?

The first Thai lakorn I've watched this year. In fact, the only new Thai lakorn I've watched this year and my second Thai lakorn review. Ah! Look at the sparkly good looks. Pretty.

Also, cheating here, but teaser 6: Guess Who? There's a familiar face in here.

Watching Now: Borisut Bumbut Kaen

Now there's a mouthful: Borisut Bumbut Kaen. Translated it means something like "Revenge Therapy Company," which makes no sense until you learn that the hero, Taywan, played by Aum Atichart goes into the spa therapy business as a way of getting revenge on Nong (Ann Thongprasom), a rich heiress married to Chakrit (Krit).


I'm taking a break from the Korean fest of dramas I've been watching, waiting until they finish up or near finish to resume watching them. For now, I'm four episodes into this thai lakorn, and becoming invested in the characters.

This post is mainly about new and upcoming dramas from May to July. I like having the info in one place so I can look at it. Please note these are not all the upcoming dramas out there, just the ones I have a smidgen of interest in. And this time, I've included some Japanese dramas as well.

Drama Review: Awayjee See Chompoo

My first drama review!!! I decided to follow a certain template and I try to be as spoiler-free as possible. I rate dramas as follows: Wow, Great, Good, Okay, Mediocre, Poor, and Awful. I decided to consolidate a lot of information I've found on the Internet into one listing. There are so many up and coming dramas, it's hard to keep track of them.  So I'm looking at new or upcoming Korean, Taiwanese and Thailand dramas.
